NLP Approaches to Campaign Classification
Mailchimp is the world's largest marketing automation platform. We send over 1 billion emails a day, so there’s a huge incentive to utilize this data to understand what our users are sending. Whether that be for the purpose of listening hard (our company motto), predicting a customer’s business vertical, or preventing users with malicious intent from using our platform. This presentation will be a broad overview of natural language processing approaches to campaign classification and going over the advancements that were instrumental to creating the system we use today.
Muhammed Ahmed is a Junior Data Scientist at Mailchimp. In Fall 2018, he graduated from UGA with a B.S. in Computer Science and a certificate in Applied Data Science. He was a member Dr. Quinn’s research group and former VP of DeLUG. In his free time, he enjoyed participating in hackathons at the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, and UGA where he’s won awards for his use of machine learning in healthcare, ride share optimization, and social good.
